The road to the NBA Finals begins with the NBA Playoffs, where 16 teams compete — eight from the Eastern Conference and eight from the Western Conference.
Teams qualify for the playoffs based on their regular-season record, with the top six teams from each conference earning automatic berths. The Play-In Tournament determines the final two seeds per conference.
The playoffs consist of four rounds:
- First Round
- Conference Semifinals
- Conference Finals
- NBA Finals
Each round is played in a best-of-seven series, testing a team’s depth, resilience, and consistency. The winners of the Eastern and Western Conference Finals advance to the NBA Finals to compete for the championship.
Reaching the Finals is considered the ultimate team accomplishment — a testament to months of preparation, chemistry, and endurance. Only the strongest and most cohesive teams survive the path to basketball’s biggest stage.
