Ariel Hukporti is a German center for the New York Knicks, known for his strength, rim protection, and rebounding presence in the paint. Standing 7’0″ and 250 pounds, Hukporti brings size, athleticism, and defensive toughness to New York’s frontcourt.
Born in Stralsund, Germany, in 2002, Hukporti developed through the Riesen Ludwigsburg and OrangeAcademy Ulm systems before gaining international experience in Lithuania and Australia’s NBL with Melbourne United. His defensive motor, vertical explosiveness, and energy made him one of Europe’s most intriguing young big men.
After recovering from an Achilles injury that sidelined him in 2022–23, Hukporti joined the Knicks as a depth signing focused on defense, rebounding, and interior efficiency. His combination of physical power, mobility, and improving touch around the rim fits perfectly with New York’s hard-nosed playing style under head coach Tom Thibodeau.
