Egor Dëmin is a Russian guard currently with the Brooklyn Nets, selected 8th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft. Standing around 6’8″ and weighing ~200 lbs, Dëmin offers a rare combination of size, playmaking ability, and court vision.
Born in Moscow, Russia, in 2006, Dëmin developed within the Moscow Basketball Academy system before signing with Real Madrid’s youth program as a teenager. He later played one season at BYU, where he averaged over 10 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game, earning recognition on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
In Brooklyn, Dëmin projects as a versatile playmaker rather than a traditional point guard. His gifts lie in creating for teammates, making smart decisions under pressure, and contributing in transition. Though his jump shot and strength are still developing, his high basketball IQ, size for the guard position, and passing skills make him a promising long-term piece for the Nets.
