Amari Williams is a forward/center from the United Kingdom playing for the Boston Celtics, known for his defensive presence, rebounding, and interior scoring. Standing 6’10” and 230 pounds, Williams combines strength, mobility, and rim protection to anchor the paint on both ends of the floor.
Born in Nottingham, England, in 2001, Williams developed his game in the UK before moving to the United States to play college basketball at Drexel University. During his collegiate career, he became one of the most dominant defensive players in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), earning three consecutive CAA Defensive Player of the Year awards while averaging 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game as a senior.
After going undrafted in 2024, Williams signed with the Boston Celtics, where his physicality, rebounding, and defensive versatility quickly made him a developmental asset. His ability to protect the rim, switch onto smaller players, and finish through contact fits perfectly with Boston’s defensive identity and frontcourt depth needs.
